Kitchen

During the summer season we serve two meals a day - breakfast and dinner. Most of our guests prefer to prepare a packed lunch, refill their thermos and eat their lunch while out walking in the mountain range, in the hotel garden or inside in one of the hotels many common rooms.

During the winter season, we also serve soup with bread in the ski room every afternoon - with a lovely fire in the fireplace.

Breakfast

Our skilled breakfast chefs prepare and arrange a rich, healthy and varied breakfast served daily from 08.00 am. In addition to a rich selection of cold cuts that include cured meats and smoked salmon, you can stock up on hot dishes such as scrambled and boiled “smiling” eggs based on organic egg production, breakfast sausages made from chicken, and good old-fashioned oatmeal. There is always fresh fruits and vegetables available.

We also offer freshly brewed coffee, tea, juice, a wide selection of yoghurt, sour-milk as well as regular milk. For those who want groats as breakfast, there is also a wide selection to choose from. Many guests choose to finish up breakfast with newly baked waffles, sour cream, jam and brown cheese.

Dinner

Dinner is served every day at 19:00 pm until 20:00 pm, and is to our guests the highlight of the day and part of the reward for many hours traversing the mountain burning calories. Dinner is a two course meal consisting of a main course with side dishes, dessert and coffee.

As our guest, you supply yourself from a heated up self-serve station placed in the middle of the canteen. We serve both todays special and various side dishes. This means that you can choose from several dishes every day - or taste a little from each. The chef makes sure there is enough food available at all times during dinner. Our experience is that mountain people after being active the whole day have a very good appetite. A rich salad buffet is also a popular and a healthy accompaniment to dinner.

Keywords for dinner are:
Good ingredients, honest – nutritious – tasty and enough food!

We mainly serve Norwegian traditional food. Typical dishes are our reindeer roast, Sautéed reindeer beef and elk chops with brussels sprouts, venison sauce and stirred cranberries. Other typical dinner dishes are steamed cod with bacon, grilled salmon with cucumber salad and sour cream, veal roast and pork tenderloin. The chef is also well known for his homemade stews such as chili con carne, pasta bolognese and beef stroganoff.

In recent years, we have also made sure to always have a vegetarian alternative. The chef makes his own vegetarian varieties of bolognese and venison stew and chili sin carne, which has grown more and more popular among non-vegetarian guests.

We offer traditional desserts such as caramel pudding, chocolate mousse and lemon cheese with homemade raspberry sauce and strawberries with cream. In addition to today’s desserts, guests can stock up on ice cream from a self-serve counter. With dessert, we present freshly brewed coffee.

The chef’s motto: My goal is for the guest to weigh more on departure than on arrival!

Bon appetit!
